It is situated in the quiet hamlet of East Woodburn on Cycle Route 68 and within 5 miles of the Pennine Way.
Hadrian’s Wall and Keilder Water & Forest Park (with its outdoor and water activities), are both within easy reach. The Northumbrian coast, Alnwick Castle & Gardens and the Scottish borders are all within an hour’s drive away. The crags of East Woodburn provide good rock climbing, the details of which are provided in relevant climbing reference books. Nearly all the local footpaths are well signposted and great short or day walks from the cottage are easily made.
Newcastle/Gateshead is 30 miles (45minutes) away for The Sage, The Baltic, theatres, museums, cinemas etc. For shopaholics, the Metro Centre is also in Gateshead.
Middles comfortably sleeps 3 in the twin and single bedrooms. The lounge/dining room has a Multifuel Stove with smokeless fuel provided in the hire, although the gas fired central heating warms the cottage without the need to light the stove if prefered. The kitchen is compact but fully equiped for all meal preparation. There is a light and airy small conservatory at the rear catching the morning sun.
Please note that although single duvets are provided, bed linen, pillow cases and towels are not normally supplied.
West Woodburn just one mile away has a public house serving meals if you want a break from self catering.
