English Tourism Council 4 Stars

Swallow Cottage is a gritstone cottage built in the 1800s. It has been modernised but still retains its charm, character and some original features such as the beams and the cupboard built into the wall. The cottage, which sleeps three, has outstanding views in the White Peak walking way of the Derbyshire National Park.

Located in the small quiet unspoilt gritstone and limestone conservation village of Elton near Bakewell, it is an ideal centre for walks on the doorstep and visiting many of the attractions of the Peak District, Derbyshire Dales and beyond. Whether you come for walking, cycling, touring or just relaxing in the cottage and garden you won't be disappointed. There is much to enjoy in the varied and beautiful scenery of this lovely part of England.

The cottage, which sleeps three in a double and a single bedroom, has central heating and a gas stove in the cosy beamed lounge, with a stable door to the rear garden overlooking beautiful views. The accommodation is equipped to a very high standard, and is rated as having an excellent overall level of quality by the English Tourist Commission. Outside, from the front garden, you can watch the world (or rather the village) go by from the garden...
