Regarding facilities
The Stables offers 1 double bedroom with an ensuite shower room. Additionally there is a twin bedroom furnished with comfortable 3’ beds. It is adjoined by a family bathroom which includes a bath with an overhead electric shower. A light and spacious lounge/dining area gives access to a courtyard and seating area which also provides secure storage for bicycles. A well equipped fitted kitchen area completes the accommodation. Included in the price is all heating and electricity, bed linen and towels (not for the beach), tea towels, dishcloths, a selection of cleaning and washing materials, loo rolls, a hairdryer, games and books.
Outdoors
In addition to the courtyard area adjoining The Stables, there is for our guests relaxation and enjoyment a separate large garden running alongside the hard tennis court. This has lovely far reaching rural views, various seating areas, barbeque facilities and a good sized sun lounge/studio which also enjoys garden and rural views.

The beach is a mile and a half away and has a small free car park, it can also be accessed on foot down a wooded valley. There is a stretch of sand at low tide with pebbles and rock pools. Welcombe is a village on the North Devon/Cornwall border, popular with walkers, surfers and families. Visitors return year after year to enjoy the peace, quiet and natural beauty of the area. There is a large nature reserve nearby, as well as the coast path. The wooded coombes and sunken leafy lanes are crowded with primroses in Spring.
Little Nod is situated on a small, secluded site of 12 bungalows behind a thatched pub, The Old Smithy Inn, which has an open fire in wintertime, serves excellent food, real ales and good wines. It also has wifi if you need to use your laptop. There is a village shop/PO which offers a pre-ordering delivery service for your arrival and has internet access. There is also a small working pottery and often free range organic eggs available at the farm opposite. There are other pubs and shops in nearby villages and Bude is about 20 minutes away by car.
Local attractions include Marsland Nature Reserve, SW Coast Path, Tintagel, Boscastle, The Milky Way, The Big Sheep, The Gnome Reserve, Docton Mill Gardens, Hartland Abbey, Hartland Quay, Dartington Crystal and Rosemoor RHS Gardens. Dartmoor, Bodmin and Exmoor are all easily reached for a day, as are Eden and Heligan.
This property offers 1 double bedroom, 1 bunk bedroom, bathroom with shower over the bath wash basin and toilet, lounge/dining room/kitchen, shared garden for residents only, patio with garden furniture. THE SITUATION -- The East Devon and West Dorset coastline is now officially listed as a natural World Heritage Site - the only one in England. The area has been given this unique designation because of its outstanding landscape and geological features.
Close at hand are Axmouth, Beer and Branscombe; Lyme Regis is 12 minutes and Sidmouth 15 minutes by car. The area is an excellent centre for walking, sailing, fishing and golf. It is also ideal for making day trips Eastwards into the Thomas Hardy country of West Dorset, and Westwards towards the Cathedral City of Exeter, Dartmoor, Exmoor, Torbay and the Dart Valley.
West Ridge is 40/45 minutes drive from the M5 junctions at Taunton and Exeter.
