Stable Cottage has been renovated to retain its character with stone walls, natural beams, cobbles, slate, granite and wood floors and in the evening sunlight, the coloured borrowed lights throw colours around the ceilings. As you enter inside the cobbled hallway there is plenty of space for coats, wellies, walking boots and sandals. Thoughtfully and stylishly furnished and decorated throughout as you enter into the main living area there is a well-equipped hand built country kitchen, and dining area at one end and living space at other end with comfy sofas, wide screen TV, freeview, DVD and for those winter evenings, column radiators and a wood burning stove.
The two bedrooms consist of a large main double bedroom with king size bed and en-suite shower room with mosaic tiled shower cubicle, basin and toilet. And twin room where the beds can be pushed together for couples. There is also a large bathroom with luxury freestanding bath on the original slate floor - ideal for a long soak after a good day out - toilet and basin.
Stable Cottage has its own outdoor courtyard at the front of the property with table and benches and at the rear in our woodland a private terrace with table and chairs, to enjoy the view and the daytime and evening sun. With access to a grass area to kick a football or enjoy the outdoor games we provide – whatever your age - and alongside is our own small private woodland.
Within easy reach of the North Cornish Coast, surfing at Polzeath , sailing or fishing at Rock, sandcastles at Daymer Bay, cycling along the famous Camel Trail, moorland and coastal walks.
Nearby are Padstow, Tintagel, Boscastle, Bodmin Moor and the historic fishing village of Port Issac. Only half an hour from the Eden Project and 40 minutes from the Lost Gardens of Heligan. There are many local attractions for sunny or rainy days.

The recently built detached cottage has a garden/patio which is partially enclosed and sits within the main house plot. Dining area/ kitchen, sitting room and sun lounge are open plan with doors opening on to the patio area which has garden furniture.. There is also a utility room.
Main ground floor bedroom has twin linked beds and ensuite shower room.
Upstairs has a second bedroom with single bed and additional fold-up bed to accommodate 2 people. Separate upstairs bathroom.
Well behaved dogs only (not puppies/ incontinent dogs/bitches in season/cats) accepted by prior consent only. £30 deposit required for each dog, max. 2. This will only be refunded after departure and after full inspection of the property proves that no damage was incurred.

On the opposite side of the valley are Shilla Mill Woods, ancient woodlands which are designated as being of outstanding local significance and which are referred to in several of Sir John Betjeman's poems.
Eden Project half hours drive. During the winter months there is an iceskating rink at Eden for public use. The area is known for an abundance of excellent public houses and eateries including Rick Steins famous Restaurant and Bistro inPadstow just half hours drive or one hours walk and water taxi. Jamie Olivers 15 restaurant is 15 miles away at Watergate Bay, and Port Isaac home of the TV SERI ES Doc

The owners are nearby and do their own cleaning so the cottage is of a very clean nature. Organic produce can be provided weekly from an organic farm just over the border in Devon, and wines, beers, ciders, fruitjuices, clotted cream, meat, vegetables, and dairy produce, bread, cereals and pasta can be ordered and delivered to the door on Tuesdays. Just order in advance. There is parking for 1 car in front of the cottage offstreet and safe for children and toddlers. Couples are welcome also. We have recently added an arbour for your amenity facing down to the beach suitable for watching the sunset and winter storms. We are open for Christmas and New Year. Situated on the Devon/Cornwall border, it is an ideal base for exploring both counties. Catch the picturesque Tamar Valley Train from Calstock to Plymouth across the historic viaduct. Boat trips depart from Calstock quay, also sailing and canoeing activities are available . Many National Trust properties and Gardens within a short drive and easy access to Dartmoor National Park. This property offers a large double bedroom on the first floor and twin room on the second floor. The twin room has an extra bed which can be used to create a kingsize bed (ideal if 2 couples are staying) or can sleep an extra child. A folding travel cot is also available if required. The bathroom has a bath and separate shower cubicle with an electric shower - no fear of someone using all the hot water! The toilet is situated in a separate cloakroom. Downstairs there is a lounge/diner including a dining table to seat up to 6 people and the cosy woodburner. The separate kitchen is well equipped and has a cooker, fridge with icebox freezer compartment, a washing machine and a microwave.
The cottage comfortably sleeps 4 people, the extra guest bed in the twin bedroom is ideal for those families with 3 children and extra seating is available downstairs if required.The prices quoted on the calendar are for up to 4 people, a 5th person is accommodated at an extra cost of £50.
The cottage does not have private parking but there is a large free car park at the quay, a couple of minutes walk away. There is space outside the cottage to stop and unload bags and parking is also available on the road (summer restrictions apply).
Although there is no garden with the property, the quay has a large field ideal for exercising dogs and children. There is also a children's playground and lovely riverside walks.
Poplar cottage is a non-smoking property, however we do not object to smokers staying if they are prepared to smoke outside.
